Former NCAA tournament hero Kris Jenkins, in a lawsuit filed last week with the Southern District of New York, is suing the NCAA and six major conferences for limiting athlete pay and restricting his ability to capitalize off his name, image and likeness while he was at Villanova University.

Jenkins’ lawsuit alleges that the NCAA and the major conferences, including the Big East, violated federal antitrust laws by impeding the ability of college athletes to make money based on their performances and collective market values. The lawsuit also claims that the defendants “unjustly enriched themselves and their for-profit business partners while causing extensive damage to the student-athletes.”

Per the lawsuit, Jenkins “seeks the compensation that he would have received absent Defendants’ unlawful restraints on pay-for-play compensation, a share of game telecast revenue and compensation that he would have received for media broadcast uses of his NIL (‘BNIL’), and the compensation that he would have received for his NIL from third parties for use in video games and other opportunities including marketing, sponsorship, social media, branding, promotional, and other NIL deals.”

If my biased Temple brain thinks he should collect millions from the NCAA, then that should be how this case is decided. No need to waste time and taxpayers dollars. Just get 10 fans from the four other Big 5 schools, line them up, and if the majority think Kris Jenkins deserves damages then that should be the verdict.

The McNeese State manager just made $100k for NIL in two weeks. Imagine the NIL opportunities if this play happened on Monday night:

Jenkins would’ve made five, six, seven, even 10x more from that play. He’d be asked to do appearances from Villanova up to New York and down to Florida and over to California and beyond. Nova alumni are everywhere. Hell, he probably could’ve pocketed $250k just showing up to Bar Mitzvahs on the Main Line in that first year. Kyle Scott probably would’ve given him $50k just to recreate the shot with him in his driveway. There is no one who was better positioned to make a boatload of money than Kris Jenkins and Ryan Arcidiacono. They would’ve toured the entire Jersey Shore that summer from Cape May to the Hamptons doing signings.

Instead, Jenkins says he was offered $4,000 over 10 years. That’s complete bullshit:

Where’s Ali Farokmanesh? It’s time to strike while the iron is hot. Imagine the amount of John Deere endorsements he missed out on:
