Mets reporter Andy Martino (@surfingthemets) says that Francisco Rodriguez tore a ligament last week when he "rained blows" on Carlos Pena's head.
If it wasn't something that required surgery, I would almost have thought this to be a fake injury, so the Mets could get K-Rod out of their clubhouse.
Let's compare. Chase Utley tears his thumb ligament hustling to stretch a single into a double. K-Rod tears his beating his girlfriend's father. Ladies and gentlemen, your New York Mets.
