Not surprising, but still gross to see it happen:

The chances of Carter falling to the Eagles at 32 were slim to none. Even the thought of him sliding down the board to a position where the Birds could trade up was akin to a snowball attempting to roll through hell.

Early in the draft process, Carter was mocked at #1 for about a week, then down to #4 when it was thought the Giants might take Shedeur Sanders out of Colorado. Alas, they ended up signing Russell Wilson and picking Carter instead. Now the G Men have an edge rushing group that includes Carter, Brian Burns, and Kayvon Thibodeaux, anchored by Dexter Lawrence on the interior. Good group on a terrible team.

Best of luck to Abdul, of course. Hopefully he plays 15 games at a Pro Bowl level and drives Dak Prescott and Jayden Daniels into the Earth’s crust. Then he stinks up the joint against the Birds in the other two games.

Alas, we will never know if the RUMOURED Patriots/Eagles trade would have happened. #4 overall for A.J. Brown went the same way as “should the Eagles draft Bijan Robinson?”
