A Look at the Eagles' NFC East Odds After Week 6
The Philadelphia Eagles left Week 6 just a half-game out of first place in the NFC East.
That seems like a minor miracle given the inconsistent play and the injuries they had to fight through.
Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders are on top of the division, but the sportsbooks are mixed on which team should be favored to win the NFC East.
DraftKings lists Washington at +120 with the Eagles second at +135, while FanDuel has the Eagles at +120 and Commanders at +145. The Dallas Cowboys are +400 and +425, respectively, and the New York Giants, well we’re just being nice mentioning them here. The Giants are +4000 and +5000 at FD and DK.
The Eagles may not have a ton of positive vibes surrounding them at the moment, but the schedule does favor them to make a surge not just into first place in the NFC East, but closer to the top of the conference as a whole.
A win over the Giants next week is expected and the games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars in Weeks 8 and 9 do not look as difficult as they did in September. Cincinnati’s gone through a ton of defensive issues that one win over the Giants may not cure, while the Jags might be one loss away from firing Doug Pederson.
The best-case scenario is a pretty good one. The Eagles could go into the Dallas/Washington stretch at 6-2.
The odds to win the NFC East may not change much during that run, though, since the Commanders have a three-game stretch against the Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, and the Giants ahead of them.
Dallas might be an afterthought in the division race before the Week 10 clash with the Eagles because it has a Week 7 bye and then travels to face the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons.
The Eagles most likely slip-up spot in the next three weeks is against Cincinnati, and even if that does happen, they would carry strong value on the NFC East futures board.

The next few weeks of the schedule do not look great, but consider the back end of the slate when looking at NFC East futures.
Jalen Hurts and Co. finish the season with four of the last five at home. At least two of the road games against the Giants and Los Angeles Rams seem like wins. Going to Baltimore, Cincinnati, Dallas, and Washington won’t be easy, but there are definitely more difficult stretches out there in the NFL.
Eight wins are definitely sitting there on the schedule, which makes the over 10.5 wins on the updated regular-season victories line possible as well.
A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are only going to get healthier and make larger impacts on the offense, Saquon Barkley has been as advertised, and while the defense hasn’t been great, there were some signs it can get stops on Sunday, albeit against the Browns.
It may be hard to find some positivity right now, but the Birds are in a good spot, and if the wins start to pile up, they’ll be in excellent shape heading into the Dallas-Washington stretch.
