Eagles Brought Coffee to the “Run the Ball” Guys, who Seemed to Annoy the Beat Writers

“We do need to continue to try to run the ball.”

This idea seemed to really annoy the Eagles beat writers, who all responded with some sort of dissenting tweet. The Birds ran it nine times on Sunday and couldn’t pick up more than four yards. They stunk on the ground and more or less abandoned the running game. But this is just two fans holding a sign outside of NovaCare, so it’s not a big deal. It’s not like they stormed the United States Capitol waving a flag and wearing a shamanic headdress.

Daron Bland has allowed 279 receiving yards in the last two games — the most in a two-game stretch in the #NFL this season.

#Eagles drove the ball into the red zone on their first two possessions. The offensive issues have little to do with the archaic “run the ball” argument.

Building on this — I’m not suggesting they shouldn’t run. I’m saying the Eagles don’t need to run the ball more. They’re No. 5 in the NFL in the rushes per offensive play.
