Add this One to the Nick Castellanos Postgame Quote Montage

We joked the other night about creating a running thread of Nick Castellanos being totally blunt with reporters in postgame interviews. Here’s another one to add to the montage after the 5-3 NLCS Game 1 win over the D Backs:

Just for these playoffs, we have him:

• telling Tom McCarthy that he didn’t learn “a damn thing” about himself”
• saying that the Phillies thrive after getting punched in the face
• going on MLB Network and saying “I mean yeah, I fuck with Philly”
• asking Matt Winer “where’s the question in that?”

And now this. So we’re up to five brilliantly brusque quotes. Curt Castellanos is his new nickname, not “Curt” like Schilling, but “curt” like the synonym for “brief.”

Again, I don’t think Nick is being a dickhead here. I think this is just who Castey is. He is very blunt and forthright. He likes to hit dingers and spend time with his son. He’s not out here philosophizing like he’s the baseball Nietzsche. This is the MLB postseason, not The Birth of Tragedy.
