And I honestly don’t think he’s being rude, this is just who Castey is. Brevity is the name of the game. He was the same way with Philadelphia media during his introductory press conference. “I don’t have a college degree, I hit baseballs.” Remember that one? And then when the Phillies clinched a playoff berth this year, Tom McCarthy asked him what he learned about himself, to which Castellanos replied, “…not a damn thing.” It’s funny because he’s so blunt. Other players will pick up on nothing questions or dumb questions and spin those off into some sort of hackneyed response, but Castey takes everything at face value, which creates hilarious moments like these.
