Nick Castellanos Thinks Scooby Doo is a Superhero
MLB All-Stars were asked about their favorite superhero and Nick Castellanos didn’t disappoint:

He’s a dog that can talk and solve mysteries… duh:
Ohhh boy… if we are using Castey’s definition of a superhero as “he has special skills and he solves mysteries,” we are walking a slippery slope. If that is true then McGruff the Crime Dog is as much a superhero as Scooby. Does that also mean that pot head Shaggy is a superhero too? Are Fred, Daphne, and Velma? Is Sherlock Holmes a superhero? What does a horse shoe do? Are there any horse socks? Is anybody listening to me?
Webster’s Dictionary defines superhero as, “a benevolent fictional character with superhuman powers, such as Superman.” Is talking a superhuman power? I guess so because not all dogs can talk. If that’s the case, I would argue Scooby Doo is more of a superhero than Batman. Without Lucious Fox, Batman is nothing but a trust fund baby. But with Lucious he’s a trust fund baby with cool gadgets that fight crime. Scooby Doo fights crime with a dude who is on acid 24 hours a day and sleeps in a van. That’s more impressive if you ask me.
Freddie Prinze Jr. gets it:
the difference between sarah michelle gellar and freddie prinze jr explaining scooby doo is so funny to me 😭https://t.co/FyvfkiPT1w

We gotta get former Phillie Freddie Prinze Jr. to throw out a first pitch to Castellanos sometime in the second half of the year so they can chop it up about Scoob:
P.S. There are two different people in this world. People like Nick Castellanos that don’t take life too seriously and dorks like Spencer Strider who use the term “supinated release” while they’re being interviewed by a seven year old:

P.P.S. This has nothing to do with the story. I just wanted to get Rob Flashes in here. Guy is definitely not spending his All-Star per diem on lunch:
