RADIO WARS: Hunter Brody Out at 97.5 the Fanatic (UPDATED)
Radio Wars:
Found out this morning that Beasley Media had to make some cuts and I was unfortunately part of it. Can’t thank @975TheFanatic enough for the last few years. It was an absolute blast.
Excited to keep it rolling on Brodes Media!

I’m hearing that there are additional changes at 97.5. We are “efforting” that information. (EDIT – Assistant PD Eric “Coach” Camille” is out as well – announced on air by Tyrone and Ricky Bo. Coach deleted his Twitter account)
Hunter was co-hosting The Best Show Ever? from 2-6 alongside Tyrone Johnson, Ricky Bottalico, and Jen Scordo. That show officially started on August first of 2022, so that four-person configuration did not last a year. TBSE replaced Mike Missanelli on the PM drive slot following Mike’s surprise departure a few months prior.
In the men 25-54 demographic, WIP has been winning the afternoon time slot handily, continuing a trend that began when Mikey Miss was still on the air. It’s been some time since that slot was competitive, with WIP most recently pulling a 17.5 number and 97.5 logging a 3.0 in the winter Nielsen book. The gap was similar in the fall ratings book, which takes place during the bulk of football season.
Beasley has had a few rounds of recent cuts. This past October, Jamie Lynch and Paul Jaxon were let go, along with Charlie Maxx at WXTU and John DeBella’s producer Dave Gibson as well.
(TBSE’s Monday show was Ricky Bo, Tyrone, and Jen)
EDIT 2 – some sales people were also let go (CLARIFICATION – triple checked with source and one of the layoffs was in a sales-adjacent role, not technically a seller, so that’s the more accurate description)
EDIT 3 – there were a couple of other behind-the-scenes layoffs, off-air personnel
