For the Love of God, Somebody Needs to Knock Jake Paul on his Ass
The other night Jake Paul knocked out Ben Askren in what amounted to a joke of a boxing match.
Askren is a former Bellator and ONE MMA champion who went 1-2 in the UFC before retiring. He is probably the worst striker to ever win a mixed martial arts belt, but he was an elite wrestler and grappler in his prime who would just grab ahold of opponents and not let go.
He made a lot of money in the loss to Paul, who is a Youtube dork. Askren said the fight wasn’t rigged, but it sure seemed that way, because he was seen smiling and laughing while walking back to the locker room with his wife:

The problem is that Askren disgraced the MMA community with his loss. And energized Paul in the process. Now Paul thinks he’s a real boxer and is talking all kinds of trash after improving to a 3-0 record that includes wins over another Youtuber and a retired 5’9″ basketball player.
Here he is calling out former UFC double champ Daniel Cormier after “D.C.” got into a Twitter kerfluffle involving ex-UFC champ Tyron Woodley and a boxer name J’Leon Love, who was in Paul’s corner for the Askren fight:
Okay fat boy. So me vs you & J vs. T.?? https://t.co/MDhyPTVpIN

Absolutely ridiculous.
Cormier later escalated things on the “DC & Helwani” podcast on Monday … saying, “This dude would never fight me. I would kill him. Why would I ever fight someone like that?”
Jake responded on Tuesday … saying he would be very interested in a Pay-Per-View boxing match against Cormier and strongly thinks he would KO him, just like he did to Ben Askren. Don’t hold your breath for a Jake Paul vs. Daniel Cormier fight — but Jake vs. Tyron Woodley seems to be gaining momentum.
As Cormier explained, “I would like him to fight Tyron. I would like to see him fight somebody more real. Don’t fight Ben Askren at 190, bloated.”
I know there isn’t necessarily a robust MMA following in Philadelphia, but all you need to know is that Daniel Cormier would wipe the floor with Jake Paul in less than 20 seconds. It would not even be close. Cormier would enter as a -10000 favorite and the line would only move slightly.
Tyron Woodley would do the same. Woodley is on a long losing streak and his UFC days are pretty much done, but even at 39 years old I’d take the former Welterweight champ over a 24-year-old Youtuber. One overhand right and Paul would be laying on his back, looking up at the lights.
The thing with Paul is this –
The guy appears to be an athlete. He’s very fit. He moves well and boxes well. Apparently he has a sporting background and you have to give credit where it’s due. He’s definitely not a slouch.
But holy shit is this guy annoying. A Youtuber. A COVID denier who knocked out Nate Robinson and a retired dad bod wrestler. Now he’s calling out MMA greats and besmirching the sport and talking all kinds of trash on a daily basis. If Ben Askren soiled the reputation of mixed martial arts, then somebody needs to make it right. Somebody needs to knock Jake Paul on his ass and give the world what it needs.
You’re telling me Ben Askren survived this but his fight with Jake Paul got stopped after getting knocked down once? pic.twitter.com/ZBENDEKTQb
