Tom McCarthy Confirms that Jordan Romano's Last Name is Not Pronounced Like the Guy from "Everybody Loves Raymond"
This is somewhat disappointing. T-Mac explained to a fan why he’s been pronouncing Jordan Romano’s name differently from how we all thought it was pronounced:
Hey Phreak. While BR is usually correct, this time they are incorrect. We have explained it a few times. Jordan wants it to be Ro-Man-o. 👍👍 https://t.co/B62kysl72B

Not sure about you, but we were doing the Ray Romano jokes in our group chat. But that doesn’t work anymore because the Italian pronunciation we all thought we were getting is apparently fake news. We thought it was the classic Italian thing: Ro-Mahh-no. But it’s ro-MAN-oh, like Manowar, i.e. the heavy metal band or the Portuguese jellyfish. Ro-Manowar.
What’s stupid is that the Blue Jays announcers have been pronouncing it this way forever. They’ve been saying ro-MAN-oh. You go back and look at old highlight reels and video clips and it’s pretty consistent. So maybe we’re all idiots or we just weren’t paying attention. Maybe we were hoping that in a city with a ton of Italians, we’d get the Italian-sounding last name. The guy did represent Italy at the 2017 World Baseball Classic, and was going to again in 2023 before pulling it out, so it wasn’t like people were making it up, the Italian thing. I guess he just pronounces it differently, which isn’t relevant anyway, it just limits our ability to do Italian memes and Everybody Loves Raymond jokes.
