Who would’ve thought that Shedeur Sanders was almost a Philadelphia Eagle? Apparently that was the case, according to Ian Rapoport:

This would’ve been such a Howie move. These guys consistently fall in his lap because other GMs are scared to take a chance. When you have ironclad job security you can make these types of picks. You saw it with Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter, and Cooper DeJean over the last couple of years. Some teams are scared of guy’s medicals or off-the-field stuff, but the Eagles do their due diligence and can take these risks because they’ve hit more recently than they’ve struck out. Did they need Sanders when they have the Mormon Missile? Nope. But it’s potential trade bait or maybe an opportunity for Sanders to get his feet wet in the NFL with a competent franchise. And it’s not crazy to think Howie is already looking down the line for the next Eagles QB since it wouldn’t be the first time he’s drafted a back-up after his starter became a Super Bowl champ.

Howie didn’t give up any details when he was asked about it because that silver-tongued devil never shows his cards:

One more thing, can we talk about the prank phone call Shedeur received from those Ole Miss bros for a second? Can we stop with the bullshit outrage on social media around it? Dumb college kids prank NFL prospect. It happens. The same thing happened to Cooper DeJean last year and it’s going to happen in 2026:

The NFL is launching an investigation. AN INVESTIGATION! Are we serious? I’ve seen online people calling for the Falcons defensive coordinator’s job and they want the son kicked out of school. I’ve seen people calling these two kids racist. They definitely didn’t prank Sanders because it was the biggest story of draft weekend and they wanted to brag about it with their boys at the frat house. No, it has to immediately be warped into a race issue. People are acting like Sanders got the call, immediately bought a house in the French Quarter, and was ready to start his life in New Orleans. Look at all of the people who reported they were pranked during the Draft. Not even UDFAs are safe in 2025!

Kyle McCord even got a few calls from 215 and 609 numbers. One moment you’re hanging out with this guy in Algebra class at the Prep, the next he’s pranking you during the biggest moment of your life:
