Well, this week in Queens hasn’t gone the way the Phillies wanted it to.

A pair of losses, only five runs scored over two games, and a Cristopher Sanchez injury scare have done enough damage to make you start diving into mock drafts and becoming an expert on which player the Eagles take at No. 32 on Thursday night.

The Phils have a chance to salvage their series in New York, though, with Zack Wheeler on the mound as a -115 favorite against David Peterson.

The Phillies were the series favorite and favored in all three games, which speaks to what the oddsmakers still think of the Phils and Mets head-to-head.

Wednesday’s expectation is for Wheeler to twirl another gem on the mound and give the Phils a chance to win and create some momentum going into the off day and the weekend trip to Chicago.

Wheeler went at least six innings in four of his five starts, so it makes sense that his outs recorded prop sits at 18.5. It’s a number that makes you think about the under because he could have a strong six-inning start and still put the Phils in good position to win.

The under on Wheeler’s strikeouts (6.5) is also in play. The Mets only struck out 16 times in the series and it took a lot for Aaron Nola just to get to six punchouts on Monday night.

Again, you can’t directly correlate the under on outs and strikeouts with a loss. Wheeler can easily go six innings, have 5-6 Ks and allow just an earned run or two. Hell, I’d say that’s the goal given how the series has gone so far.

The Phillies offense is the bigger issue here. Trea Turner, Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos are a combined 0-for-21 in the series with nine strikeouts. You aren’t winning many baseball games, no matter the pitching performance, with those numbers.

The good news for Harper is that he’s killed David Peterson in his career. Harper owns a .421 batting average in 19 at-bats.

Alec Bohm has the best history against Peterson with two home runs, six RBIs and a .333 BA over 21 at-bats. Bohm has three hits in the series, and at his best last year, he hit lefties really well. I’d look to his over 1.5 total bases at +125 and even his home run at +650. Bohm is the perfect candidate to use for DraftKings’ Home Run No Sweat promotion on PA sports betting apps and New Jersey sports betting apps.

FanDuel and DraftKings are both offering live profit boosts for Wednesday’s MLB slate. You could use one of them on Bohm’s props once the game starts since he bats near the bottom of the order.

BetMGM is offering a MLB parlay boost token, bet365 has an Instant Payout offer if the team you bet on the money line goes up by five and ESPN Bet has two profit boosts available for Wednesday’s MLB slate.
