The Birds wrapped up the NFL Draft with four selections in the sixth round:

  • Kyle McCord – Syracuse quarterback (#181 overall)
  • Myles Hinton – Michigan tackle (#191 overall)
  • Cameron Williams – Texas tackle (#207 overall)
  • Antwaun Powell-Ryland – Virginia Tech EDGE (#209 overall)

Thus completes a nine-player draft class that includes five defensive players and four offensive players. The Birds took two linebackers, a safety, a defensive tackle, a corner, a QB, and three offensive linemen. Four of the players are from SEC teams Texas, Bama, and Georgia, while they went to the ACC for three picks, Big 10 for two picks, and took one player out of the Big 12.

McCord you may be familiar with as a South Jersey kid and St. Joe’s Prep product. He spent three seasons at Ohio State, starting the 2023 campaign before transferring to ‘Cuse for his senior season. He threw for 4,779 yards and 34 touchdowns with the Orange and now joins the Eagles’ QB factory, which currently features Super Bowl champions Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee, plus Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Hinton was a Big 10 Honorable Mention as a Michigan senior. He’s a Stanford transfer who started 10 games at left tackle, missed two weeks due to injury, and didn’t play in the bowl game against Alabama. He’s the son of Chris Hinton, the #4 pick in the 1983 draft who went to seven Pro Bowls over an 11-year career with the Colts, Falcons, and Vikings.

Williams was a finalist for the Joe Moore Award, which goes to the nation’s top offensive lineman. He started 15 games on the right side, protecting Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning. Scouts say he’s raw and needs a little more experience before finding a consistent NFL level.

Powell-Ryland is a Florida transfer who played two seasons at VPI, earning second-team All-ACC honors in 2023 and first team honors in 2024. He was a third-team Associated Press All-American, finishing third in D1 with 16 sacks, adding 19 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles. A productive player, maybe a situational pass rusher and role player if he has a good camp and makes a good impression.
