Brandon Marsh isn’t the reason the Phillies are 9-6 and just lost back to back series. It was just a good headline. How about that? Accountability in the free press. You can’t say you can get that everywhere! Still Marsh isn’t helping and a majority of the outfield looks like it’s going to be another glaring hole in the Phillies lineup this season. It’s still early, but every Phillies fan yelling about Dave Dombrowski not doing enough in the offseason and the inability of the third baseman is starting to look like they were correct:

Woof. Those are ugly. Alec Bohm has been relegated to seventh in the order. Left field has been a platoon of guys, including Edmundo Sosa for a game, as the Phils are trying to find a place for him to get more playing time due to his hot start. Still it’s ugly and something needs to change. Weston Wilson might be that guy the Phils deploy against lefties when he comes off the IL. Sidenote: Don’t look at Logan O’Hoppe’s numbers this season if you care about your mental health.

Topper is giving Marsh a chance against lefties for the first time in his career. Some might chalk the struggles up to it being him still getting used to the change, but there’s a strong enough sample size that tells you this will remain a problem for the roommates until the Phils do something about it:
