The Angels DFA'd Scott Kingery
Scott Kingery did not make the Angels’ roster:
The #Angels have acquired LHP Angel Perdomo from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
In a corresponding move, INF Scott Kingery has been designated for assignment.

Not sure how many people even realized, since the Phillies were coming off a hideous NLDS loss to the Mets, but Kingery was traded to LA for cash considerations in November. He signed a one-year deal with the Angels for $770,000.
LA is coming off a 63-win season and has not made the playoffs in more than 10 seasons. They have former White Sox infielder Tim Anderson in camp on a minor-league deal and it seems like he’s now going to make the Opening Day roster. Last year they had a couple of different guys at second, with Brandon Drury and Michael Stefanic getting the most games. Bottom line, it seemed like there was an opportunity for Kingery to find a role on a crap team, but alas, DFA’d he is.
Kingery is 30 now. Feels like yesterday he was the Phillies’ top prospect and destined for big things here. Then all of the messing with his swing took place, he turned into a utility guy without a true job, and wound up playing just 325 major league games on that six-year, $24-million contract. He hasn’t had a major league appearance since 2022.
