The Phillies Daycare is officially dead. When Bryce Harper mentioned they weren’t The Daycare anymore before Opening Day they were officially on life support:

When Alec Bohm stayed dry during the postgame interview on Thursday they had pulled the plug, but hadn’t let anyone but immediate family know.

Today, Bryson Stott officially buried them. He looked like he had PTSD, continuously looking over his shoulder so much that TMac called him out on it. He let the guys know they were gone forever:

End of an era. I guess these guys are all business this year. I know some Phillies fans were sick and tired of The Daycare. Plenty subscribed to the idea the team couldn’t hit in the playoffs because they were pouring water on each other after the game. They weren’t locked in enough during the season. God forbid they show a little personality and have a little fun during a grueling 162 game season.  It didn’t matter that the senior citizens on the team couldn’t hit either. Don’t let facts get in the way of a mouth breather. But those people will be excited the “antics” are over. They’ll have to move onto the next thing to blame if the Phillies don’t win it all this year. Now I’ll admit it was time to graduate. Head to kindergarten and start learning about time and shapes. Maybe it’s working. Brandon Marsh and Stott both had a home run today. Alec Bohm had another two hit game. I’m all for them finding a new bit, but I doubt it happens and like a lot of things I think people will end up wishing they appreciated the good times because they grow up so fast:

Stott was asked about The Daycare earlier this week in an interview with Scott Lauber via the Inky where he mentioned The Daycare was always about service time and less about their age and that it will always be with them.
