Johan Rojas is Switching His Number in 2025
Johan Rojas was informed he made the Opening Day roster, per Todd Zolecki. He’ll also be rocking a new number in 2025:
Johan Rojas has been told he made the team. He is switching from No. 18 to No. 23 this season.

The Phillies bench is now down to one spot remaining with Rojas on the roster. Edmundo Sosa, Rafael Marchan, and Rojas are the first three players off of the bench. The 4th spot will come down to Buddy Kennedy and Kody Clemens.
Rojas will be the 4th outfielder behind Max Kepler, Brandon Marsh, and Nick Castellanos. The Phillies will give Marsh the opportunity to play every day in the early parts of the season, as he’s been working heavily on hitting left-handed pitching this offseason.
A new number for Rojas brings back some wild names in recent Phillies history. The number was last worn by Jeff Hoffman, and before that, it was Kody Clemens’ original number. Before that? –
- Corey Knebel
- Archie Bradley
- Kyle Garlick
- Jay Bruce
- Aaron Altherr
- Brian Schneider
- Paul Bako
- Adam Eaton
That’s one hell of a list.
4 days till Opening Day. In case you missed it, the Phillies made a bunch of moves Sunday. You can read about all of them here.
