Inquirer Switching Things up on the Phillies Beat
In sports media news:
Hello, a quick work update! After three years on the Phillies beat, I’m moving to sports features for @PhillyInquirer.
This is a dream job and I’m very grateful for it. I’ll be writing about everything Philly sports-related, so if you have any ideas, I’m at acoffey@inquirer.com!

You may have figured this out from my spring training posts, but I’ve officially joined the @PhillyInquirer Phillies beat. I’ve loved baseball all my life and this is a dream come true.
I know I have big shoes to fill, and I’m thankful to everyone who has welcomed me already.

This had been in the works for some time. Now it’ll be Scott Lauber and Lochlahn March as the day-to-day Phillies beats. Alex Coffey joins the feature writing ranks and there’s the columnist trio of Mike Sielski, Marcus Hayes, and David Murphy to round out Inquirer presence at Citizens Bank Park. Seems like a smart bit of shuffling on their part. Coffey’s best stuff has been her feature writing, so you add her to the mix with Matt Breen and others and that’s a strong group. RE: March, she does not actually have a bio at the Inquirer, and is still relatively new to the paper/site, but I believe she had been covering a little bit of everything previously.
