Philly Elmo has skyrocketed up the ranks of Philly mascot lore over the last couple of years. He’s more popular than half of the mascots in this city. He’s mentioned in the same breath as the Phanatic and Gritty. It’s a dude who just walks around the city in an Elmo costume with a band and has made a living off of it. That’s the idea of the American Dream I was fed as a young boy. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That any man, woman, and borderline furry could grow up one day, prance around the city with a drumline, and benefit financially. Now he’s a question on one of the biggest gameshows of all time!
You knew you were dealing with a living legend way back when he showed up at the Great Philly Trash Fire of 2018:

Btw wtf is Green Man? Like the one Always Sunny episode? Have some respect, Jeopardy! Don’t get me wrong, Green Man is a great episode, but how many people are associating that as a top-4 mascot in the city when they think of Philadelphia? I’d take Phil E. Moose over Green Man. How was there no respect for the St. Joes Hawk or the 2024 Philly mascot winner, Hooter the Owl? Hell, throw Hip Hop in there for nostalgia’s sake.
