The Phillies will not have Joe Davis on the call for the National League Division Series.

According to Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated, Davis and John Smoltz will be announcing the highly-anticipated Dodgers vs. Padres series that kicks off in LA on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

The broadcast team for the Phillies series will include Adam Amin on play-by-play and A.J. Pierzynski and Adam Wainwright as the color commentators:

I was a little surprised that Joe Davis was assigned to the Dodgers series. Davis is the play-by-play voice for the Dodgers in the regular season. FOX and Major League Baseball definitely wanted to have their top crew on what could potentially be a bigger series as far as views, but it’s a little surprising that they chose him to announce his home team right away.

If the Brewers win Game 3 Thursday night, I think the league and FOX made the right call. If they miss out on Joe Davis calling a potential Phillies vs. Mets series, that would be unfortunate.
