Nick Castellanos was asked about the mock cheer he received during the game where it looked like he said, “These fucking people.” Here was his answer:

Reporter: Nick what was your reaction to the Bronx cheer earlier and what adjustment did you make in the game to have better at bats?

Castey: Idk. Was just kind of frustrated so I guess I locked in more.

Try and tell me booing doesn’t work. We boo because we care. It’s all about how you respond and Nick Castellanos proved again he’s made for this city. He had his Bohment Sunday night:

He was later asked about the thoughts going through his head when he heard the boos, which he answered that he had a lot of thoughts. He was obviously pissed. He still might be pissed. But we were pissed too. The team scuffled through the first five innings. The bats were uncompetitive for the second game in a row. Hitters were trying to do too much at the plate.

Oddly enough, Castey is the perfect representation of this team. He’s streaky, but when he comes through it’s consistently in a huge spot. The Phillies are going to go as far as Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, and he takes them. There’s a reason they scored seven runs and they’re 3-4-5 hitters went a combined 6-for-12 with six RBIs. If the Mets are going to pitch around Bryce we need the other big guys to come through and make them pay. That’s exactly what happened and why we’re going to New York tied 1-1.

I’d pay a lot of money to hear this mic’d up audio. Get Jomboy on this and the Nimmo audio immediately:
