Here’s Jeff McLane on Thursday interviewing Fletcher Cox:

I think that might be Jeff McLane trolling the Eagles with the hat and the pencil look and I love it! There’s been no better beat rivalry than the Eagles vs. Jeff McLane. They HATE each other. They’ve sparred for years.

My all-time favorite was Howie making fun of Jeff’s fingerless gloves:

Sidenote: I’ve always sided with McLane on this one. I used to own a pair of fingerless gloves and they were awesome! Did Jeff and I look like we just got back from a trashcan fire with a bunch of hobos in Fairmount Park? Absolutely. But they’re the ultimate hybrid glove when it’s like February and March and mittens are too warm while naked hands are too cold. They’re great for texting too. I stand with Jeff and his fingerless gloves.

It’s extended to the players. A couple years ago we had Fletch refusing to answer his question during a press conference:

After Howie heard, it was probably the first time he’d smiled since Monday.

So if McLane flipped the script, good for him! The dude has taken a beating all year. I think he’s a legit reporter, I just sometimes question the way he does it. You barely hear about the guy when things are going good, but when shit starts to hit the fan you know Jeff’s right around the corner with some salacious drama in the Eagles locker room. And we’ll all gobble hit up. Don’t hate the player. Hate the game.
