“It’s Hard to Beat a Team Three Times in One Season” Confirmed as Fake News

Have you heard people say this week something along the lines of “it’s hard to beat a team three times in one season?” Of course you have.
Turns out that’s fake news:
For those curious about the #Eagles beating the #Giants for a 3rd time:
Since 1970 merger, there's been 24 instances of a team going 2-0 in regular season & meeting a 3rd time in playoffs. Team that won first 2 has a record of 15-9 in 3rd meeting. 14-5 when hosting playoff game

So no, it’s not “hard.” It’s probably tricky going up against a division rival who knows you very well and sees you twice a year, but the win/loss records are what they are.
Plus, the Eagles and Giants didn’t REALLY play twice this season. That second game was a throwaway. Put a fat asterisk on it because the G-Men started Davis Webb and the Birds removed 50% of the playbook to protect Jalen Hurts. If we’re counting that one as a real game, then I’m Kenny G on the saxophone.
