Back in 2012, El Wingador apologized for his arrest, saying “This isn’t me. This isn’t my style. I messed up big time and I give my sincerest apologies to anyone I have hurt by my actions.”
At the time, police said they found $8,000 worth of cocaine in two of his houses, and he was charged with first degree cocaine distribution. Keeley notes he served two years in the slammer.
El Wingador was a pseudo-celebrity in these parts during the heyday of Wing Bowl. He was on WIP and my dad used to talk about him. Every suburban white kid whose dad listened to WIP knew about El Wingador.
