A Ridiculous Basketball Fight
How you’d like to take a flying knee from 7’1″, 223 pound Thon Maker?
Oh, and you’re not even looking. Your back is turned.
That’s what happened during this donnybrook in a FIBA World Cup qualifier between the Philippines and Australia:

Here’s a slow-mo look that shows the first bit of contact that started the fight, a couple of cheap elbows in the paint, one where the Philippines player wasn’t even looking. I counted something like a half-dozen cheap shots.
Maker’s flying knee takes place about 42 seconds into this clip:
My god. This is outrageous. #FIBAWCAQ pic.twitter.com/5y9CnaPXq0

13 players were ejected, according to Smith. The game continued with only two players for the Philippines, before this happened:
Smart foul from the Philippines skipper. Fouls out and leaves them with one player and no ability to continue the game. Thank god. Done. #FIBAWCAQ

Then there was this:
This just happened. After one of the wildest on-court brawls in recent memory, the Philippines team pauses to pose for a selfie, like there’s something to celebrate pic.twitter.com/fTXAaBA5lp
